NoGuard CLI

Coming soon. Preview the planned installation, browser sign-in, and terminal workflow below. The CLI is designed to use the same account and credits as your web chat.

Planned installation

The NoGuard CLI runs on Node.js 18 or later. Install it globally with npm:

$ npm install -g noguard

Or with yarn:

$ yarn global add noguard

Verify it installed:

$ noguard --version 1.0.0

Sign in with your account

The CLI uses the same account as the website. You sign in through your browser — no passwords are stored on your machine, just a secure token.

  1. Run the login command
    $ noguard login
  2. A browser window opens with a confirmation code. If it doesn't open automatically, copy the URL shown in your terminal.
  3. Approve the sign-in in your browser. You'll see the eight-letter code — confirm it matches what the CLI shows.
  4. Done. The CLI prints your email and credit balance. You're ready to chat.
$ noguard login ◆ Starting sign-in… Open this URL in your browser: https://noguard.ai/link?code=BCDF-GHJK Waiting for approval… ✓ Signed in as you@example.com Credits: [your balance]

You need a verified email to use the CLI. No paid plan required — the free credits you get on sign-up work here too.

Chat

Start a conversation. Same AI, same persona, same quality — just in your terminal.

$ noguard ┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓ ┃ NoGuard AI — CLI Chat ┃ ┃ The AI that doesn't say no. ┃ ┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛ ❯ What is a TCP SYN scan? ◆ NoGuard A TCP SYN scan sends a SYN packet to each target port and reads the response...

Multi-line input

End a line with \\ to continue on the next line, or type """ to start and end a multi-line block — useful for pasting code.

Credits

The CLI uses the same credit pool as your web chat. Every message costs credits based on its length and the model used — same pricing either way.

After each reply, the CLI shows how many credits that message cost and your remaining balance. Run noguard me anytime to check.

Out of credits? Top up at noguard.ai/credits — current packs are listed on the pricing page Crypto accepted.

Configuration

The CLI stores its config at ~/.noguard/config.json. It holds your auth token and endpoint — nothing else.

# See your config $ noguard config # Point at a different server (self-hosting, dev) $ noguard endpoint http://localhost:8420

Signing out

noguard logout revokes the token on the server and removes it from your machine. You can also revoke any CLI session from your account settings.

API access

The CLI talks to the same API you can call directly. The base URL is https://noguard.ai/api/v1, and every request carries your token as a Bearer header.

# Example: send a message with curl $ curl https://noguard.ai/api/v1/messages \ -H "Authorization: Bearer ngk_…" \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -d '{"messages": [{"role": "user", "content": "Hello"}], "noguard_persona": true}'

Endpoints

MethodPathDescription
POST/api/v1/messagesSend a message, get a reply (or stream)
GET/api/v1/meAccount info and credits
GET/api/v1/modelsAvailable models
GET/api/v1/usageCredit usage history
DELETE/api/v1/tokenRevoke your token (sign out)

Pass "noguard_persona": true in the message body to get the same NoGuard AI personality as the web chat. Without it, you control the system prompt yourself.
